How heavenly must the music be

At one point, I know this merry band of angels all had instruments. And wings. And arms. But surviving years of love (and by love, I mean the fact I have always been attracted to things that were miniature and collectable) and being packed away for 11 months at a time, they have been damaged and broken. But it does seem odd to me that the angel with the harp (because bibical pictures have always depicted angels playing harps) is the only one left fully intact. A work of God??

Before starting with our company, you have to fill out all the information in a new hire packet and your’s truly is the lucky duck who assembles those. This is what goes into a packet. For now. Who knows, they’ll probably add more soon enough.

Andrew's take on ThanksgivingThanksgiving in a nutshell. Andrew (my brother) came home and as you can see from the picture, was in charge of dishing out and labeling the leftovers. Mike and Betsy’s Turkey. Mike’s Snack (dressing) and Betsy’s Crud (green bean casserole - which tasted nothing like crud and was quite damn delicious!!!). There were no potatoes to be dished out; we had a minor explosion in the oven that took those out (Pyrex can explode! Be ye warned!!) but I can honestly tell you that no one missed those potatoes. Despite the fact that Thanksgiving is one my least favorite holidays (all that stress over a single meal), this turned out to be a wonderful, wonderful weekend. We played some games after dinner and shared some laughs. We learned the Mike and I shouldn’t be on the same team because we absolutely dominate and that very few of us are any good at humming any actual tunes. Oh, and my dad does a slightly freightening impression of Hulk Hogan. Mike and I went cosmic bowling with my brother and his friends Friday night and I spent yesterday afternoon at the Festival of Trees with my grandmother and mother.

All in all, it started out an excellent kick off to my favorite season of all. I am so excited to see what this season brings!

Most Thankful

Guitar Man

Of course it’s pretty obvious that I am most thankful for my husband, along with my family and friends. But Mike is my rock and my comfort, my ear, my shoulder and the person who holds me when I just need to be held. He is the man I never thought I would truly find because every guy before him fell short for me. He loves me so unconditionally and so truly. Plus he plays guitar; that only adds to the desirable factor.
